At Crunch, we’re always looking to improve and develop our software to make our clients’ lives easier. That’s why we're pleased to let you know that Crunch has made our Open Banking service completely free for our online accounting software and our Crunch Free bookkeeping software. You can have secure, automated feeds of your banking transactions directly into your accountancy software.

Over the past decade, we’ve invested millions each year to develop our software. We’re continuing to develop great new features and lead the way with our award-winning combination of online accounting software and service.

We know that one of the things that some clients find time-consuming and inconvenient is manually uploading bank transactions using a ‘.csv’ file. That’s why we listened to your feedback and implemented an Open Banking solution to increase the number of banks that we can get secure feeds from.

By linking your bank account to your Crunch software through Open Banking, you’ll be able to enjoy a quicker, cleaner, and more secure service without the hassle of manual uploads of bank data. Open Banking can reduce the risk of human error, save you time, and make keeping your Crunch account up to date that little bit easier.

Please note: Open Banking is only available for use with business bank accounts. If you're a sole trader using a personal bank account, you'll need to manually upload your statements.

    What banks are supported?

We’ve currently established feeds with twelve major banks:

    • Barclays
    • Halifax
    • HSBC (Not Kinetic accounts)
    • Lloyds
    • Natwest
    • Santander
    • Starling
    • Wise
    • Monzo
    • Revolut
    • Ulster Bank, Northern Ireland
    • Tide

Don't see your bank mentioned? Not a problem! You can still upload your statements into your Crunch account through our easy Bank (CSV) Statement Uploads. Between our Open Banking connections and our CSV uploads, we connect with every major UK bank!

We’re always looking for new banks to offer a secure Open Banking integration with, and we're looking to include Bank of Scotland, First Direct, Marks & Spencer, Nationwide, RBS, and more in the following months. We also have direct bank links to Metro Bank and Cater Allen that can also import transactions securely and directly.

When can I start enjoying Open Banking from Crunch?

Right now, if you like! Open Banking feeds are available as standard to all clients on our Crunch accountancy packages, and our Crunch Free bookkeeping software. If you're already a Crunch client then we've got a Help Centre article with instructions on how to add Open Banking to your Crunch software.

Open Banking is just one of the many exciting upgrades we’ve made and will be making to our Crunch software to make our clients’ lives simpler and easier. We’ll keep you updated with more news on software updates in the coming months, so stay tuned!
